Produced by Illumination and distributed by Universal Pictures, it is the sequel to The Secret Life of Pets (2016), and the second feature film in the franchise of the same name. The Secret Life Of Pets 2 will arrive in UK and Irish Cinemas from 28th May 2019 ( 7th June 2019 for the USA).The Secret Life of Pets 2 is a 2019 American computer-animated comedy film directed by Chris Renaud, co-directed by Jonathan del Val (in his feature directorial debut), produced by Chris Meledandri and Janet Healy, and written by Brian Lynch. They will be joined by Harrison Ford (in his first voice-only role), Nick Kroll, Tiffany Haddish, Pete Holmes. There’s a cast of many lending their talents to bring the cast to life: Patton Oswalt replaces Louis C.K As Max with Kevin Hart, Jenny Slate, Eric Stonestreet, Ellie Kemper, Dana Carvey, Bobby Moynihan, Hannibal Buress, and Garth Jennings (director of Sing) returning. The Secret Life of Pets 2 will see the return of writer Brian Lynch (Minions) and once again be directed by Chris Renaud (Despicable Me series, Dr Seuss’ The Lorax). Illumination founder and CEO Chris Meledandri and his longtime collaborator Janet Healy will produce the sequel to the comedy that had the best opening ever for an original film, animated or otherwise.
